Reflection
Wow, its kind of been a long time since I've updated this, I feel like the days are just mixing together, and the end of the year is creeping up upon us. I feel as if I have done some cool things this semester. My voice is seeming to fit into what it is supposed to and I think I'm starting to grasp the more important concepts of the voice. I feel as if I had a fairly good performance in studio this morning. I got a lot of good feedback and I think I even had a little bit of vibrato. I passed my jury and in two weeks will be my Junior recital and boy is that a nerve wracking experience. I have gotten over my cold and allergy nonsense, and I'm very excited to hit my music hard, and really perform to my full potential. I'm excited to hear it and ready for it to be over! :)

Ugh. Really?!
Well I suppose since I"m up right now I'll go ahead and blog about the week. The first part of the week went ok, just trying to get everything ready and caught up for the weekend so I don't fall behind in my classes. Practices were challenging because I was trying to focus only on my difficult songs, which gets frustrating, and then leads to nerve wracking. I'd have to say that most of my songs besides the Massenet, and partially the Haydn will be ready. I for one am not a huge fan of singing French, and then Bonne Nuit is nowhere to be found in audio format which makes for practicing when you can't sing very difficult. The wisdom teeth were taken out yesterday, and as much as it hurts I"m doing surprisingly well. Once again, the only thing that is difficult with this is I can't open my mouth to sing or else I start bleeding, and all but one of my songs can be on my ipod. The worst part of it is I tried to have Dr. Hepworth sing it for me to put on my computer, and the recording did something weird so essentially all I can here is piano, sounds like I'll have to get a new one on Tuesday! I hope everyone else's week is going by smoothly, thank you for all the kind thoughts and prayers for my surgery, and here's to a quick and hopefully relatively painless (if I can keep on the medications) recovery!

Second Week of Lessons
This week has been a very exciting week for me on a vocal level. I just recently got my voice duet book for the duet Will and I will be performing. Seems as if everything is falling into place for me lately, I'm figuring out what I would like to do with my life, and my voice pieces are coming along quite well. Still have yet to make much progress on my program notes, but that's what the weekend is for right? I'm excited to see the changes in my literature once I understand more about the composer, and the characters that I will be portraying. It's really neat to me to see how I sometimes simply can read about the character, and can be that person, it means so much more to me as a vocalist, and hopefully the audience thinks the same. I feel as if I'm on a roller coaster of emotions through the progress of this recital. One day I'll be excited, and the next day I'll be as nervous as all get out! It's so crazy! But I absolutely love what I'm doing and wouldn't trade it for the world. I can't wait to see what I can do with this the rest of my life! :) Here's to a GREAT week!

Week 1
Well I just got back from my first NAMM show and I was overwhelmed by how many musical gadgets and instruments and pieces, the musical world has to offer. However, as exciting as the show was, it has put me terribly behind in my practices and I'm getting more and more nervous as the semester progresses, and we're only a week in.
